The Law introduces pivotal provisions aimed at fortifying the privacy of personal data and establishes the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, a regulatory body tasked with overseeing the processing of personal data. The primary objective of this law is to guarantee and preserve the fundamental rights of Nigerian citizens to data privacy, while also ensuring that Nigerian Data Controllers adhere to the highest standards of data protection.
